Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons of sugar

  • 4 tablespoons of chocolate powder

  • 2 tablespoons of butter

  • 4 tablespoons of milk

Directions

  • In a small saucepan, combine the sugar, chocolate powder, butter and milk.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the butter has melted and the mixture is well combined and begins to boil.
  • Reduce heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. This will help thicken the frosting.
  • After 2 minutes, remove the pan from the heat and pour the still hot icing over the already baked and cooled carrot cake.
  • Spread the frosting evenly over the cake, let it cool and set slightly before serving.
