Lionsgate continues to prepare audiences for the theatrical release of Greenland 2: Migrationthe sequel to the catastrophe movie that will present many new threats to the Garrity family.
The most recent in the promotional material are character posters focused on the three protagonists, Gerard Butler, Morena Baccarin y Roman Griffin Davis (Jojo Rabbit).

The sequel to Greenland (2020), features the returns of the director Ric Roman Waugh and the screenwriter Chris Sparling.
The Garrity family will face new threats in the sequel to the disaster movie, as they are forced to leave the bunker shelter in Greenland they reached in the first film.
“The end of our world was just the beginning,” he warns us, in the new installment that promises more meteorites, a tsunami, a radiation storm, and many other dangers.
The plot takes us five years after the initial impact of a comet which decimated much of the Earth, with Butler as John Garrity and Baccarin as his wife, Allison Garrity, and their son, played by Roman Griffin Davis (Jojo Rabbit), facing another catastrophic event when a shower of interstellar comets impacts the Earth's atmosphere.
After fighting for life in a Greenland bunker, the distraught Garrity family decides to abandon that safety and navigate the shattered, radioactive wasteland of Europe in search of a new home.
Other cast members include Amber Rose Revah, Sophie Thompson, Trond Fausa Aurvag y William Abadie.
The script was co-written by Sparling y Mitchell LaFortune (Kandahar, Last Breath).
OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:
“The sequel will once again follow the Garrity family, who survive a near-extinction-level event when an interstellar comet hits Earth and must leave the safety of the Greenland bunker and embark on a dangerous journey across the decimated frozen wasteland of Europe to find a new home.”
Thunder Road Pictures and G-Base are producing the feature film with Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, Butler, Alan Siegel, Sebastien Raybaud, John Zois, Brendon Boyea and Waugh producing.
The first film, which became a hit in viewing upon its arrival on VOD platforms, follows structural engineer John Garrity (Butler) and his wife Allison (Baccarin), who find their family's life turned upside down by the unexpected detour of a planet-destroying comet that will fall on Earth. They then embark on a dangerous journey to Greenland, hoping to survive what could be possibly devastating circumstances for the world.
Greenland It was scheduled to be released in theaters in June 2020, however, with the massive closure of theaters, STXfilms, the film's distributor, decided to discard the big screen debut and opted to release it directly on VOD platforms in December 2020.
In the international market it was released in theaters, accumulating a box office of $53.5 million dollars, for one of the best box offices in times of pandemic.
In theaters, January 6, 2026. In Mexico will premiere on January 29.
