Following the audience success of Dahmer Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Storyfrom the co-creators Ryan Murphy e Ian Brennan, Netflix gave the green light to the anthology series Monster launching the development of two more seasons.

The anthology aims to “tell the stories of other monstrous figures that have impacted society.” The first of them is Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Storywhose premiere on the streamer is scheduled for Thursday of this week, September 19, and the next one is the one that was just announced by Murphy.

During the premiere of Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez StoryMurphy revealed that Season 3 is on the way, starring Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy) playing serial killer Ed Gein (via Deadline).

Murphy did not reveal any other details about the anthology's third season.

Like the first season which revolved around Jeffrey Dahmer, The third season will focus on another serial killer, Edward Geinbetter known as “The Mad Butcher,” “The Demon of Plainfield,” “The Executioner of Plainfield,” among other nicknames.

Gein confessed to murdering two women in the 1950s and also allegedly made trophies from the bodies and skin of corpses he exhumed from cemeteries. Gein's story inspired the character of Leatherface in Tobe Hooper's 1974 horror classic, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

Hunnam is best known for his role as Jackson “Jax” Teller on the acclaimed FX series, Sons of Anarchywhich aired from 2008 to 2014. More recently he has been part of television projects such as Shantaram from Apple TV+ and Rebel Moon from Netflix. We will soon see it on Criminal on Prime Video.

In the cinema, we know him for roles in Children of Men by Alfonso Cuaron, Pacific Rim y Crimson Peak by Guillermo del Toro, King Arthur y The Gentlemen de Guy Ritchie, y Triple Frontier by JC Chandor.
