The cast of the next film project Christopher Nolan made another new luxury signing.
According to reports from THR, the Oscar winner, Charlize Theron has become the most recent signing for the film that Nolan is preparing with his home in Universal Pictures.
At the moment no details of Theron's role were released.
The actress joins a cast that already has confirmed Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong'o y Robert Pattinson.
Damon, Holland, Hathaway and Pattinson are said to play the lead roles, with Nyong'o and Zendaya playing supporting roles.
As is usual with the director's projects, plot details are kept secret. There are rumors that it would be a period vampire thriller or an action thriller involving helicopters, although a previous report clarified that, “The descriptions of the film that have been published to date are erroneous and the details are kept secret.”
The film is expected to begin filming in early 2025.
Nolan wrote the script and will direct the feature film that will be distributed by Universal Pictures, as happened with the acclaimed Oppenheimer. The studio set its premiere in theaters for July 17, 2026.
The film's release will include IMAX format. IMAX CEO Richard Gelfond told Variety that the filmmaker will experiment with “new IMAX technology,” and “equipment never used before.”
Nolan will produce alongside his associate and wife, Emma Thomasfor their production company, Syncopy.
Theron's most recent projects include Fast X y The School for Good and Evil. We will soon see her in the sequel of The Old Guard. The actress is also preparing for the sequel Atomic Blonde 2action films Apexy Two for the Money.
