For your Nega Maluca cake to be perfect, use the ingredients below and follow the preparation instructions.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of wheat flour

  • 1 3/4 cups of sugar

  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder

  • 2 tea spoons of baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt

  • 1 cup of milk

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla essence

  • 1 cup boiling water

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter

  • 4 tablespoons cocoa powder

  • 6 tablespoons of milk

  • 3 cups sifted icing sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Unite a round shape of about 23 cm in diameter with butter and wheat flour.
  • In a large bowl, sift the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
    Mix well.
  • Add the milk, vegetable oil, eggs and vanilla essence to the dry mixture.
Beat at medium speed for about 2 minutes, until you get a homogeneous mass.
  • Reduce the mixer speed and add the boiling water.
Beat again on medium speed for another 1 minute, until the ingredients are well incorporated.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared tin and bake in the preheated oven for approximately 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
  • While the cake bakes, prepare the frosting.
In a pan, melt the butter over low heat.
Add cocoa powder and milk, whisking constantly until well incorporated and hot.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and add the sifted icing sugar and vanilla essence.
Mix well until you get smooth, even coverage.
  • Once the cake is baked, remove it from the oven and let it cool in the pan for a few minutes.
Then transfer it to a cooling rack and pour the frosting over the still warm cake.
  • Wait for the cake to cool completely before serving.
