Chris Evans this back in the MCU reprising his role as Steve Rogers.
The above was confirmed by the first teaser trailer of Avengers: Doomsdaythe next installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is directed by brothers Anthony Russo and Joe Russo.
Marvel Studios officially kicked off the Doomsday marketing campaign with this first brief teaser, which gives a glimpse at how different Steve Rogers' life looks now, who is now a dad.
In the preview, which does not contain dialogue, but is accompanied by the Avengers theme song, Steve Rogers rides his motorcycle and arrives at a house on a farm, where he takes out his Captain America suit from a trunk and stops to look at it, as if it were a reflection of his past. Later, he takes a newborn baby in his arms, and the camera finally shows Evans' face. The screen fades to black and a text says:
“Steve Rogers will return in Avengers: Doomsday”.
The teaser was released a few days later following the leak of the trailer, after it was shown in American theaters during the first screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash. A trailer focusing on Thor with Chris Hemsworth was also leaked.

Following the official release of the teaser this morning, the Russo Brothers they wrote on Instagram: “The character that changed our lives. The story that brought us all together here. I was always going to come back to this.”
The last time audiences saw Rogers' Captain America on screen was in Avengers: Endgame (2019). After completing his time travel, Steve Rogers returned to the main MCU timeline as an old man and gave the shield to his former partner, Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie), who became the new Captain America, and who this same year had his solo film, Captan America: Brave New Worldwhich had a lukewarm reception from audiences and critics.
The Russo brothers direct Doomsday with script Stephen McFeely (Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Captain America: The Winter Soldier). The filmmakers will also direct the next Avengers installment, Secret Wars.
The Russos directed MCU installments like Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity Wary Avengers: Endgame.

The filming of Doomsday It was held in London this year.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is producing the feature film alongside AGBO.
Avengers: Doomsday premieres in theaters December 17, 2026. It will be one of two MCU releases in cinema next year, the other being Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
