One of the most anticipated television productions of the year, The Penguinspinoff series of in The Batman of Matt Reeves y Warner Bros.focused on the character played in said film by Colin Farrellcontinues to prepare the audience for its premiere in a couple more months.

The latest is a new official poster, which in addition to focusing on Farrell's character, confirms that the series has been subject to rebranding by HBO announced in recent weeks, and will no longer be listed as MAX Originalbut as HBO Original. This rebranding will be implemented across most of the big-budget IP projects Warner Bros.

Initially, HBO's Casey Bloys had revealed that the rebranding would take effect from its 2025 releases onwards, leaving out The Penguin which is set to premiere next September, citing as a reason that this series had already been sold in all markets as a Max Original. Apparently, they have reconsidered their strategies at HBO and the HBO Original legend is already accompanying the promotion of the series starring Farrell.

In the events of the film, The Penguin served as a lieutenant to crime boss Carmine Falcone (John Turturro in The Batman), who meets a premature end. Now, The Penguin is stepping up to lead crime in Gotham City..

The plot of The Penguin It is set a week after the climax of the film. The Batman. The story will explore Oswald Cobblepot's place in the criminal underworld as Batman becomes a bigger threat to Gotham City's villains.

The cast includes Farrell, Cristin Milioti (Palm Springs, Made For Love), giving life to Sofia Falcone, daughter of Carmine Falcone (Turturro), Theo Rossi (Sons of Anarchy, Emily the Criminal), Carmen Ejogo (The Crowded Room, Your Honor, Selma), Michael Kelly (Jack Ryan, House of Cards), Shohreh Aghdashloo (Renfield), Deirdre O’Connell (Daredevil, The Affair), Rhenzy Happy, Clancy Brown (Dexter), y Michael Blessing (The Marvelous Mrs Maisel).

The limited series will have its first two episodes directed by Craig Zobel (The Hunt), con Lauren LeFranc (Chuck, Agents of SHIELD), as a screenwriter and showrunner.
