Aubrey Plaza is adding a new project to an already busy year 2022, joining the ranks of the cast of the high-profile television series, Agatha: Coven of Chaosspinoff of WandaVision from Disney+.
Plaza’s role has been described as “mysterious” (via The Illuminerdi). Agatha: Coven of Chaos It will premiere on the streamer in 2023.
Plaza is one of the biggest names on the indie film and comedy scene, having gained recognition for her role as April Ludgate on the NBC sitcom, Parks & Recreation. This year alone, it had the premieres of multiple film and TV projects such as the drama thriller Emily the Criminalthe comedy Spin Me Roundthe action-comedy thriller Operation Fortune by Guy Ritchie, and the second season of the HBO Max hit, The White Lotuswhose first episode was released last Sunday.
Kathryn Hahn will reprise her role as Agatha Harkness in her own series. The actress became one of the favorites of the MCU fandom after her appearance in WandaVision, released in 2021 by the House of Mouse streamer. In Coven of Chaos will be the central focus of Phase 5 of the MCU, as audiences delve deeper into the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s history with witchcraft.
Other confirmed cast members include Joe Locke (Heartstopper), in the male lead role –some believe that he will be characterizing a more adult version of Billy Maximoff–, Emma Caulfield reprising her role as Dottie from WandaVision.
