Ingredients

  • 200g unsalted butter at room temperature

  • 1 cup (200g) sugar

  • 1/2 cup (120ml) cream (fresh cream)

  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence

  • 3 cups (360g) wheat flour

  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder

  • A bit of salt

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a baking tray with baking paper.
  • In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until creamy.
  • Add the cream and vanilla essence to the butter and sugar mixture, and continue beating until well combined.
  • In another bowl, mix the wheat flour, baking powder and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter, sugar and cream mixture, mixing until a homogeneous dough forms.
The dough should be a little sticky.
  • With lightly floured hands, take small portions of dough and form into balls.
Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them, as the cookies will spread during baking.
  • Use a fork to slightly flatten each cookie and make marks on the surface.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies are golden brown.
  • Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack to cool completely.
  • Once cooled, the cream biscuits will be ready to enjoy.
