Daisy ridley enfreened to zombias in the track of terror 'we buy the deed'

The zombie horror subgenre will hit theaters twice next January.

On the one hand we will have the premiere of the sequel 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple on January 16, 2026, and in addition, a new project titled We Bury The Deadstarring Daisy Ridley (Skywalker trilogy) Star Wars).

Vertical Entertainment will release it in theaters January 2.

The plot revolves around Ava (Ridley), a desperate woman whose husband has disappeared, so she joins a “body recovery unit,” but her search takes a chilling turn when the corpses begin to show signs of life. This happens due to a biological weapon that, when released, causes the dead, during the cleaning of the graves, to become zombies that attack the living.

In addition to Ridley, the main cast includes Brenton Thwaites (Titans), Mark Coles Smith (Mystery Road: Origin) y Matt Whelan (Narcos).

Zak Hilditch (1922) is the screenwriter and director.

The filmmaker is inspired by classics of the military-themed subgenre such as 28 Weeks Later, Day of the Dead, The Girl with all the Giftsamong others.

SYNOPSIS:

After a military catastrophe, the dead not only rise from the dead, but hunt. The military insists they are harmless and slow moving, offering hope to grieving families. But when Ava (Daisy Ridley) enters a quarantine zone searching for her missing husband, she discovers the horrible truth: the undead become more violent, more relentless, and more dangerous with each passing hour.

In a press release, Ridley stated about the project:

“Zak [Hilditch] has created a unique and terrifying story about the undead and the lengths to which the living will go to reunite with their loved ones. “I was thrilled to be a part of the making of this nightmare and look forward to sharing the film with the world.”

Mark Fasano, Joshua Harris, and Grant Sputore are producers. With Hilditch, Ari Harrison (Talk to Me) y Jeff Harrison (Talk to Me) as executive producers.

Released in theaters on January 2, 2026.
