In December 2023, the DC cinematic universe was officially concluded, with the release in theaters of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdomgiving way to the renewed DCU universe under the mandate of James Gunn y Peter Safran.
The starter motor of the new DCU Warner Bros.will mark it Superman Gunn, formerly known as Superman: Legacycon David Corenswet (Pearl, Hollywood) playing Clark Kent/Superman.
It is precisely Corenswet who we see in a new look shared by USA Today, available at the end of the note.
In the recently shared teaser trailer, the audience sees Superman at a low point. The preview begins with Superman bloodied and with visible bruises on his face, making an emergency landing in a frozen landscape. With labored breathing, his faithful friend Krypto arrives. “Take me home,” Superman tells his canine friend. You can find the teaser here.
The main cast is made up of Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult (Juror No. 2, The Menu) as Lex Luthor, Nathan Fillion (The Rookie) as Green Lantern, Isabela Merced (Alien: Romulus) as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi (For All Mankind) as Mr. Terrific. With María Gabriela de Faria (Animal control), Sean Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy), Milly Alcock (House of the Dragon), Frank Grillo (Tulsa King), Alan Tudyk (Santa Clarita Diet), Skyler Gisondo (Booksmart), y Wendell Pierce (Jack Ryan). Christopher Reeve's son, Will Reevewill have a cameo in the film playing a television reporter.
Gunn directed and wrote the screenplay, based on the characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster in 1939.
In 2021, Superman's decades-old motto, “Truth, Justice, and the American Way,” was changed to “Truth, Justice, and a Better Tomorrow.”
WB premieres Superman he July 11, 2025 in theaters worldwide.
