The Oscar winner, Denzel Washingtonheads to Wakanda.
The actor who is currently doing press for Gladiator 2 by Ridley Scott, visited the Today Show Australia, where he revealed that he will be adding to the MCU with a role in Black Panther 3 that Ryan Coogler is writing for him.
Washington's surprising revelation originated from a question the show's host asked him about possible anxieties about starring in high-profile films such as the sequel to Gladiatorto which Washington said:
“At this point in my career, I'm only interested in working with the best. I don't know how many more movies I'll make, probably not that many. I want to do things I haven't done. I played Othello at 22, now I'll do it at 70. After that, I'll play Hannibal. After that, I've been talking to Steve McQueen about a movie.”
Washington then added:
“After that, Ryan Coogler is writing a role for me in the next Black Panther. After that, I'll make the movie Othello. After that, I'll do King Lear. After that, I will retire.”
At the moment there are no details about Coogler's plans for black panther 3. The sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Foreverwas released in theaters in 2022, two years after the death of the protagonist, Chadwick Boseman. The sequel amassed a total of $850 million at the global box office.
