The Oscar winner, Anne Hathawayis preparing to move to the small screen.

Hathaway will star and executive produce Fear Nota new 6-episode Paramount Plus original miniseries.

The television series is based on the 2023 Vanity Fair article titled “True Crime, True Faith: The Serial Killer and the Texas Mom Who Stopped Him.”

Toluca Pictures (Wednesday) and MGM Television, produce the series, with Bash Doran (Boardwalk Empire) as screenwriter and executive producer.

Fear Not tells the story of prolific serial killer Stephen Morin, accused of more crimes than Ted Bundy, and the unlikely bond he forged with Margy Palm (Hathaway), the last woman he kidnapped. Morin's kidnapping of Palm, which began as a deadly captivity situation, took an unexpected turn, one that included compassion, prayer, and profound bravery. Palm's devotion to his faith and his insistence that Morin could be transformed became the driving force of a relationship that endured long after Palm was returned to safety, until Morin was sentenced to death.

Other executive producers include Stark and Stacey Levin of Toluca Pictures; Helen Estabrook of Vanity Fair Studios; Anne Hathaway, Adam Shulman and Jonathan Rice for Somewhere Pictures; and Margy, Bart, and Noelle Palm. MGM Television produces.

Fear Not was one of the first major acquisitions of the new Paramount+ system, led by Cindy Hollandpresident of Paramount Consumer Direct Sales, and Jane Wisemandirector of Paramount+ Originals.

Wiseman stated in a press release (via Deadline):

“At Paramount+, we're always looking for stories that captivate and entertain our audiences, and this series will do just that. By basing this chilling true story on our protagonist's lived experience, Anne brings a level of nuance and gravitas to the screen that only an actress of her caliber can achieve. We're thrilled to be collaborating with Anne, Bash and the rest of this illustrious team, and we can't wait for viewers to see what will undoubtedly be a riveting miniseries.”

The television project marks Hathaway's unusual involvement in television. The actress began her career as part of the Fox comedy-drama, Get Real (1999-2000), while the following year, 2001, he made his film debut with the classic The Princess Diariesfocusing on film projects since then. Her other regular television role was the Apple TV miniseries WeCrashed, released in 2022, which she also executive produced.

Hathaway has several high-profile films coming out in 2026: Mother Marythe long-awaited sequel The Devil Wears Prada 2, The Odyssey, Verity y Flowervale Street.
