With a theatrical release set for the end of the month, 20th Century Studios debuted the final trailer of the long-awaited sequel The Devil Wears Prada 2which includes the debut of the original song “Runway” performed by Lady Gaga y Doechii.

By the way, Gaga has a cameo in The Devil Wears Prada 2which the multifaceted artist filmed in between the dates of her world tour The Mayhem Ball, last summer in Italy.

For a while there was talk that Gaga would compose an original song for the film, and later there was talk of a collaboration with Doechii, something that the most recent trailer is finally confirming. Gaga composed a second original song for the sequel's soundtrack, titled “Shape of a Woman”.

He trailer also previews some plot details of the most recent installment, which features the returns of the iconic trio Meryl Streep, Anne Hathawayy Emily Blunt. At the beginning, Andy Sachs (Hathaway) walks with the new character of Simone Ashley (Bridgerton, Sex Education), who appears to be Miranda Priestly's new assistant at Runway magazine.

“I had your job,” Andy tells Ashley's character. “I had the opportunity to go to Paris Fashion Week and wore several pieces from the Chanel collection that year.”

Ashley's character is surprised to learn that Andy didn't keep any of those Chanel clothes after accompanying her to her new office as the new features editor of the magazine, which shares a title with Gaga and Doechii's theme song.

It appears that Andy has been hired to “help us get through the current scandal,” in Miranda's words, as the headlines are causing the magazine's stock to plummet, and more bad press for Priestly and Runway.

The story features Miranda Priestly (Streep), the terrifying editor-in-chief of Runway, still at the head of the magazine, grappling with publishing industry hurdles amid decline of traditional magazine publishing. Featuring Emily Charlton (Bunt), now a high-ranking executive at a luxury brand conglomerate, with the advertising money Priestly desperately needs.

Stanley Tucci appears collecting clothes for Andy, and Blunt has a new mantra: “May the bridges I burn light my path.”

Other newcomers to the cast, in addition to Lady Gagainclude Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, BJ Novak, Pauline Chalamet, Kenneth BranaghBroadway stars, Helen J. Shen y Conrad Ricamoraand the comedian Caleb Hearon.

The behind-the-camera talent includes the comebacks of David Frankel as director and Aline Brosh McKenna as a screenwriter, and those of Wendy Finerman y Karen Rosenfelt as producers.

The cast will have other familiar faces, Tracie Thomswho played Lily, the best friend of Hathaway's character, and Tibor Feldmanwho played Irv Ravitz, president of Elias-Clark, Runway's parent company.

The sequel staged production at various locations in New York City, and later relocated to Italy.

The original delivery, The Devil Wears Prada (2006), revolves around Andy Sachs (Hathaway), a recent college graduate in journalism who lands one of the most coveted jobs in the publishing world, as assistant to the all-powerful editor-in-chief of Runway magazine, Miranda Priestly (Streep). Andy immerses herself in the world of magazines and haute couture, thanks to her fellow assistant, Emily (Blunt), befriending the publication's art director, Nigel (Tucci).

The film grossed $326 million at the global box office, against a budget of $35 million, and earned Streep an Oscar nomination.

The devil wears fashion is based on the book of the same name by Lauren Weisberger published in 2003, which makes a fictional portrait of the time that The author worked as an assistant to Anna Wintour at Vogue. Weisberger has published two sequels to the book; Revenge Wears Prada (2013), in which Andy works as an editor for a wedding magazine and her path crosses that of Miranda once again, and When Life Gives You Lululemons (2018), which follows Emily's career as a publicist in suburban Connecticut.

Disney announced that it had greenlit the development of a sequel in June 2024. The original installment was produced by Fox, with Disney taking the lead on the sequel following its acquisition of Fox in 2019.

The sequel will hit theaters twenty years after the release of the first film.

The Devil Wears Prada 2only in theaters April 30, 2026 in Mexico and the rest of Latin America, and on may 1 in the United States and Canada.
