First look at 'Mouseboat Massacre,' another new horror project from 'Mickey Mouse'

If you're wondering why there are so many Mickey Mouse horror projects, we'll tell you.

On January 1, 2024, the copyright for the 1928 short film expired, Steamboat Williegiving way to this version of the iconic character Mickey Mouse will enter the public domain.

Immediately after, some horror-themed projects inspired by this version of the character began to be announced, the first of which was The Mouse Trapdirected by Jamie Bailey and written by Simon Phillips, which premiered on VOD on August 6 by Gravitas Ventures.

The next of them to be announced was Screamboatby director Steven LaMorte (The Mean One). This feature film will be released in 2025 on an exact date to be announced.

Finally we have the one just announced this week, Mouseboat Massacrefrom the director Andrea M. CatinellaCuriously, the same director of the slasher Pigletwhich just released its first official trailer and poster these days.

SYNOPSIS:

“The story follows a young girl struggling with drug addiction who suddenly begins seeing a mutated human-mouse hybrid infesting her life. Those around her begin to drop like flies.”

The main cast is made up of Jay Robertson, Kathi DeCouto, Atlanta Moreno, Lauren Leppard, Victor Riosy Natasha Tosini.

Bloody Disgusting shares the first official images of the slasher –available at the end of this article– and includes the following statements from the creative team:
