The winning filmmaker of the Oscar, Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker), returns this year with the political thriller, A House of Dynamiteof Netflix.
The most recent novelties announce that the film will have its World Premiere in the 82nd edition of the Venice Film Festivalin competition (official site). The festival will be held from August 27 to September 6.
Together with the announcement of the Premiere, the First official image of the filmavailable at the end of the note.
The project was originally announced by streamer in September 2024.
The plot of A House of Dynamite It is set in the White House in real time while developing a national crisis that involves the missile launch bound for the United States.

Bigelow won the Oscar for best direction for The Hurt Locker (2008), becoming the second woman to achieve triumph in that category. The film also won another five Oscar, including best film, original script, and edition. Other films led by the filmmaker include the classic Point Break (1991), Strange Days (1995), K-19: The Widowmaker (2002), the acclaimed winner of the Oscar, Zero Dark Thirty (2012), for which Bigelow was also nominated for the golden statuette for best film as a producer of the same, and Detroit (2017). This is his first feature film from Detroit.
