The X-Men are officially back in third teaser trailer that Marvel Studios launches Avengers: Doomsdaythe next installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is directed by brothers Anthony Russo and Joe Russo.
After officially starting the marketing campaign of Doomsday in recent days, with a first advance that confirmed the return of Chris Evans like Steve Rogers, and then a second focused on Chris Hemsworth like Thor, Marvel Studios releases first look upon the returns of Patrick Stewart like Professor Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen like Magneto, and James Marsden como Scott Summers/Cyclops.
Absent from the preview but confirmed to return are also Alan Cumming como Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn Like Mystique.
The progress is bleak. It shows a destroyed Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters, an older and friendlier Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr, and an enraged Scott Summers firing optic blasts as the Sentinels stalk him.
The highly anticipated Marvel movie brings together its most famous superheroes against a new enemy: Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr.
It's still unclear what Doctor Doom's plans are for the young people of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but if the Latverian leader is going after Franklin Richards — as was hinted at at the end of The Fantastic Four: First Steps—, he could also go after Steve Rogers' baby, Love, Thor's adopted daughter, and the teenagers who study with Professor X and his team of mutants. The good news? Cyclops' suit in the X-Men is faithful to the comics.

The Russo brothers direct Doomsday with script Stephen McFeely (Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Captain America: The Winter Soldier). The filmmakers will also direct the next Avengers installment, Secret Wars.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is producing the feature film alongside AGBO.
Avengers: Doomsday premieres in theaters December 17, 2026. It will be one of two MCU releases in cinema next year, the other being Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
