First Looks at Amy Adams in Horror Thriller 'Nightbitch'

The first looks at the horror thriller are here Nightbitch from the director Marielle Heller (Can You Ever Forgive Me?), the protagonist and producer Amy Adams, and the study Searchlight Pictures.

Heller described the film to the outlet as follows:

“[Es] “a comedy for women and a horror film for men.”

VF editorializes:

“But really, Nightbitch hits all of those notes at once, combining sharp dialogue with improvised chaos (a necessity when the second most important character in your movie is played by unruly three-year-old twins) and moments of graphic body horror.”

SYNOPSIS:

“Nightbitch tells the story of a woman thrown into the grind of staying home to raise a toddler in the suburbs, who slowly embraces the wild power deeply rooted in motherhood, as she becomes increasingly aware of the strange and undeniable signs that she may be turning into a canine.”

The project produced by Annapurna Pictures, Bond Group and Adams, which was acquired by Searchlight in May 2022, is based on the novel of the same name by Rachel YoderThe author adapted her own material for the feature film script.

The cast is headed by Adams, Scoot McNairy (Speak No Evil, Narcos: México) playing Adams' husband, and Mary Holland (Happiest Season).

The MPA (Motion Picture Association) awarded Nightbitch the R rating due to:

“Language and some sexuality.”

Adams and Stacy O'Neil produce via Bond Group, alongside Heller with Defiant By Nature, Anne Carey of Archer Gray (20th Century Women), Ellison de Annapurna (Booksmart), Christina Oh (to the pain), Adam Paulsen (Pig), and Sue Naegle. Sammy Scher and Havilah Brewster serve as executive producers.

Searchlight Pictures will release Nightbitch In theaters on December 6, 2024.
