Ingredients
3 eggs
2 cups sifted wheat flour
1 cup of milk
2 cups of sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 tablespoon powdered yeast
1 teaspoon vanilla essence (optional)
A bit of salt
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.Â
Grease and flour a cake tin approximately 23 cm in diameter. - In a large bowl, beat eggs and sugar until fluffy and pale.
- Add vegetable oil and milk to the egg-sugar mixture, stirring well until smooth.
- Add the sifted wheat flour little by little, mixing gently with a spatula or fouet.Â
Be sure to incorporate the flour well, but avoid over-mixing as this will make the cake heavy. - Add the vanilla essence (if using) and a pinch of salt, mixing again.
- Lastly, add the baking powder and mix gently until it is well incorporated into the dough.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the surface.
- Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 30 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes in the pan before transferring it to a cooling rack.
- Once fully cooled, you can decorate the cake as you wish and serve.
