Gemma Hayes «The Break Didn’t Heal Right» – the Irish singer has just released her fourth album, “Blind Faith”, on which she continues her pleasantly atmospheric and slightly psychedelic form of folk, for which she has been known and loved for years. The album is rather quiet, but also contains this wonderful song, which starts out very subdued, but then slowly builds up and becomes more and more dense and is somewhat reminiscent of Metric.
Wendy James «Do You Dig It? Do You Love It? Is It Groovy?» – I don't know who of you was already musically active in the 1980s, but for a short time it was hard to ignore Transvision Vamp, the pop-punk band from the UK. TV was also one of my absolute favorite bands around 1989. Singer Wendy James continued solo for a while after the band split, then disappeared from the big stage, only to return some time ago with new music. She was no longer able to build on her old successes, but the songs that she has now released (with the new album “The Shape of History”) bring back a bit of the old TV days.
