The live-action series God of War has made three important signings for its supporting cast.
Alastair Duncan (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) has been chosen to play Mimir, with Danny Woodburn (The Witcher) y Jeff Gulka (Van Helsing) signed to play the brothers Brok and Sindri, respectively, in the live-action Prime Video series, produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, according to reports from Variety.
For Duncan, it marks a return to familiar territory, having previously voiced Mimir in the 2018 video game, God of Warand the sequel God of War: Ragnarok.

The actors join those previously announced, Ryan Hurst (Sons of Anarchy) in a leading role as Kratos, Teresa Palmer (The Fall Guy) as Phoebe/Sif, Thor's wife and goddess of family, Mark Parker like Heimdall, Mandy Patinkin (Homeland) as Odin, and Ćlafur Darri Ćlafsson (Severance) as Thor.
As a curious fact, Hurst lent his voice to Thor in the video game God of War: Ragnarok.
Prime Video awarded green light for the seasons. Pre-production is underway in Vancouver and casting continues to progress.
Frederik E.O. Toye (The Boys, Shogun) will direct the first two episodes.
Based on the ancient mythology-themed PlayStation video game, the series from the writer, showrunner and executive producer Ronald D. Moore (Outlander, For All Mankind), God of Warfollows father and son, Kratos and Atreus, on their journey to spread the ashes of his wife and mother, Faye. Throughout their adventures, Kratos tries to teach his son to be a better god, while Atreus tries to teach his father to be a better human being.
Kratos is a Spartan by birth and a god by nature. Raised in a martial culture, he rose to command armies in the service of his homeland until one day he made a fateful pact with Ares, the Greek god of war, and lost his soul in exchange for victory in battle.
Over the course of 10 successful games, Kratos defeated mortals, creatures, and gods alike. In the process, He became an iconic pop culture character., Known for his stoic nature, undeniable combat skills, and tragic past.
In the live action series, Kratos' story will closely follow the path of the previous two games as he deals with something new: his ten-year-old son, Atreus.. This father-son dynamic began a new chapter in the legendary series and will be the driving force of the new series.
DESCRIPTION OF THE CHARACTERS:
- Mimir He is a cheerful man from Celtic lands with an expansive intellect, quick wit, and a level-headed mind. Always with clear words, Mimir describes himself as the “Smartest Man in the World.” He was an advisor to Odin, the Allfather, who eventually banished him to the trunk of a tree, forever separated from his loved ones and everything that could feed his mind. Following his banishment, Mimir seeks atonement for the terrible actions he committed in the name of the All-Father.
- Hernia is a legendary dwarven blacksmith who was removed from his community after helping build a superweapon. He is impetuous, irreverent and abrupt, the complete opposite of his uptight brother and fellow blacksmith, Sindri, with whom he has a conflictive relationship. Players will know Brok as the beloved armorer with an unmatched talent for creative and foul-mouthed cursing.
- Sindri is a renowned dwarven blacksmith whose incredible weapons are coveted across the kingdoms. Neurotic, helpful and extremely germaphobic, Sindri is the complete opposite of his grumpy and foul-mouthed brother and partner, Brok.
The series God of War is co-produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios in association with PlayStation Productions and Tall Ship Productions.
