The live-action series God of War from Prime Video, which is already in production in Vancouver, has just added another talent to its cast.

Sonya Walger has been chosen to play Freya in the streamer's live action, in recurring role.

Walger see suma a Ryan Hurst (Sons of Anarchy) like Kratos, already Callum Vinson (Crystal Lake, Long Bright River) as Atreus, the young god son of Kratos. Other additional members include Teresa Palmer (The Fall Guy) as Phoebe/Sif, Thor's wife and goddess of family, Mark Parker like Heimdall, Mandy Patinkin (Homeland) like Odin, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (Severance) as Thor, Alastair Duncan (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) like Mimir, Danny Woodburn (The Witcher) y Jeff Gulka (Van Helsing) like the brothers Brok and Sindri, and Ed Skrein (Deadpool) as Baldur, Odin's youngest son.

Louis Cunningham (Marie Antoinette), Island Austin (Insidious 6), Ben Chapple (Good Cop Bad Cop) y Evelyn Miller (Foundation) are also part of the cast.

The Freya's official character description indicates that she is “a Vanir goddess and princess who practices powerful ancient magic. She is also the ex-wife of Odin (Patinkin) and the former Queen of the Valkyries of Asgard, a title given to her on her wedding day. She is strong, insightful, and full of regrets. When her unhappy marriage to Odin ended with her exile, Freya was separated from her family and her homeland, Vanaheim. She has lived alone in Midgard for a century, secluded in a hidden clearing, feared by humans and often known as the Witch of the Wood.”

The actress is perhaps best known to audiences for her key and unforgettable role on the acclaimed ABC series, Lostwhere she played Penny Widmore. Walger joined Lost during the second season and stayed until the end. He starred in one of the highest rated television episodes “The Constant.” More recently, he was part of the series For All Mankind of Apple TV.

The long-awaited adaptation of the classic PlayStation video game is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios.

Based on the ancient mythology-themed PlayStation video game, the series from the writer, showrunner and executive producer Ronald D. Moore (Outlander, For All Mankind), God of Warfollows father and son, Kratos and Atreus, on their journey to spread the ashes of his wife and mother, Faye.. Throughout their adventures, Kratos tries to teach his son to be a better god, while Atreus tries to teach his father to be a better human being..

Kratos is a Spartan by birth and a god by nature. Raised in a martial culture, he rose to command armies in the service of his homeland until one day he made a fateful pact with Ares, the Greek god of war, and lost his soul in exchange for victory in battle.

Over the course of 10 successful games, Kratos defeated mortals, creatures, and gods alike. In the process, He became an iconic pop culture character., Known for his stoic nature, undeniable combat skills, and tragic past.

In the live action seriesthe Kratos' story will closely follow the path of the previous two games as he deals with something new: his ten-year-old son, Atreus.. This father-son dynamic began a new chapter in the legendary series and will be the driving force of the new series.

Prime Video awarded green light for the seasons.

Frederik E.O. Toye (The Boys, Shogun) will direct the first two episodes.
