Halle Berry Trapped in Forest Horrors in Trailer for Alexandre Aja's 'Never Let Go'

Lionsgate presented the official trailer for the psychological horror thriller Never Let Gopreviously titled Mother Landfrom the filmmaker Alexandre Aja.

Aja has made feature films such as The Hills Have Eyes, High Tension, Piranha 3D, y Crawl.

The Oscar winner, Halle Berry stars in the horror project, titled Don't let go in our market, alongside young actors Percy Daggs IV (The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey), y Anthony B. Jenkins (Florida Man).

The plot of the titled Don't let go In our market, it follows a mother (Berry) and her twin sons who have been tormented by an evil spirit for years. But as evil takes over the world beyond their doorstep, the only protection for a mother and her twin sons is their home and the protective bond of their family. Needing to be connected at all times (even when tied together with ropes), they cling to one another, urging each other to never let go. But when one of the boys questions whether the evil is real, the bonds that bind them are severed, setting off a terrifying fight for survival.

In the trailer, which we see at the end of this article, we can see how this family lives in a cabin in the woods, without electricity, wearing old clothes, and having very little food. But all of that takes a backseat, since it is their home that provides them with protection from evil. The title of the film makes much more sense when we understand this.

In an interview with EW, Aja comments on the cabin acting as protection:

“I found it interesting to think of home as a protective prison, the home of a mother who loves her children so much that she would keep them in her womb forever if they never had to see the monsters she sees in the world. Halle has brought a lot of compassion to her character, where she comes from and what informs her tragic present. She gave Mom the strength and fragility she needs to weave a close bond around her children.”

Aja directs the script for Kevin Coughlin & Ryan Grassby.

Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen and Dan Levine of 21 Laps serve as producers alongside Aja. Berry and Holly Jeter serve as executive producers.

Lionsgate releases Don't let go in theaters the September 20, 2024. In Mexico and the rest of Latin America will be distributed by Corazón Films starting September 19.
