Marvel Studios shares a new look at Harrison Ford in Captain America: Brave New World.
Ford joins the MCU playing antihero Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross, previously played by William Hurt in the Marvel cinematic universe. Hurt passed away in March 2022 from prostate cancer. Her last appearance in the MCU marked her Black Widow (2021). The most recent delivery of Captain America will introduce Red Hulk to audiences as Ford.
Thunderbolt is often depicted as an enemy of the Hulk. General Ross is the father of Betty Ross, who in Brave New World will be interpreted by Liv Tylerresuming the role he gave life to in The Incredible Hulk (2008). This marks his first return in said role.

In Brave New World, Anthony Mackie will be presented as Captain America in cinema, following up on the events of the original Disney+ series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Mackie will be in the company of Danny Ramirez (Top Gun: Maverick) as Joaquín Torres/Falcón.
Brave New World It is part of Phase 5 of Marvel Studios' MCU.
In 2025, Marvel Studios will have three MCU Phase 5 film releases. Starting in February with Captain America: Brave New Worldfollowed by Thunderbolts in May, and finally closing with The Fantastic Four: First Steps in July.
Brave New World It will be the first solo installment of the Marvel cinematic universe in which another character assumes the protagonist role previously played by another different character. In this case, Sam Wilson (Mackie) assuming the role as Captain America after the departure of Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America in Avengers: Endgame.
