Hayden Panettiereknown for series such as Heroes, Nashvilleand the franchise Screamdied this Sunday, August 16. The unfortunate news was confirmed by his representative to ABC News, without an official cause of his death, at the moment.

Police sources confirm that police responded to an incident involving Hayden today and are currently there is an investigation underway.

Hayden's father, Skip Panettiere, sent the following statement to ABC:

“It is with deep sadness that we share the tragic news of the passing of our beloved Hayden. She was an incredible light and force of nature who brought immense love and joy to all who knew her, as well as the millions of people who saw her on screen,” said her father, Skip Panettiere.

His father asked for privacy “as our family takes time to come to terms with this unimaginable loss.”

Panettiere is also the mother of a daughter, Kaya Klitschko, whom she had in 2014 with her ex-fiancé Wladimir Klitschko.

Panettiere's career began in 1994, when he was barely five years old, with participations in One Life to Live —where he appeared in 27 episodes— and, later, in Guiding Lightwith a role in 45 episodes. In 2000, he landed a breakthrough role in the film Remember the Titans alongside Denzel Washington, and, in 2006, he joined the cast of Heroes to play cheerleader Claire Bennett across 73 episodes of the NBC drama series.

Panettiere later received two Golden Globe nominations for her performance as Juliette Barnes in the series Nashvillein which he acted in 128 episodes between 2012 and 2018.

In addition to his television career, Panettiere tried his luck in one of the biggest and longest-running film franchises, Screamreaching it in the fourth installment, Scream 4 (2011), quickly becoming one of the favorites of fans of the slasher saga, with her endearing and unforgettable role as Kirby, repeating it one last time and after years of waiting, in Scream VI (2023).

Additionally, he lent his voice to the video game Until Dawn.

Panettiere published his first book, This Is Me: A Reckoningin May of this year, where she shared numerous stories about her life in the spotlight, including details of her conflictive relationship with her mother and the abuse she suffered during her career in Hollywood.

Over the years, she also spoke openly about her struggles with alcohol and drugs, and postpartum depression. In 2020, he spent time in a rehab center and got sober. In 2022, she shared on Good Morning America: “I didn't know where alcoholism ended and postpartum depression began. And I pushed myself to the limit of my strength. The years before were also very difficult for me. And I just needed a break.”

In 2023, his younger brother Jansen passed away unexpectedly at age 28 due to a heart condition. Regarding his brother's death, Panettiere stated in 2024: “When something of such magnitude happens to you, you really learn to choose your battles and not let the little things upset you. Because, once something so horrible, so profound, so catastrophic happens in your life, there are not many things that can really shake your foundation.”
