Ingredients
1 kg of potatoes, peeled and cut into medium cubes
2 tablespoons of butter
1 cup of milk
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
500g of ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 tomato, chopped
1/2 bell pepper, chopped (optional)
1 can of tomato sauce
Salt and black pepper to taste
Olive oil for sautéing
Grated cheese to taste (optional)
Directions
- Cook the potatoes in salted water until they are soft.
- Drain the potatoes and mash them well.
- In a pan, melt the butter and add the mashed potatoes.
- Add the milk little by little, stirring constantly, until you obtain a creamy consistency.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Reserve. - In a pan, heat the oil and sauté the onion and garlic until golden.
- Add the ground beef and cook until it is completely browned.
- Add the tomato and pepper, cooking for a few more minutes.
- Add the tomato sauce, season with salt and black pepper to taste, and let it cook for about 15 to 20 minutes over low heat.
- In a baking dish, place a layer of mashed potatoes.
- Then add the ground beef filling.
- Cover with another layer of mashed potatoes.
- If desired, sprinkle grated cheese on top.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for approximately 20 minutes, or until the cheese is golden.
- Remove from the oven, let it rest for a few minutes and serve.
