After having became the number 1 movie premiere in Disney+ To date, in the United States – the streaming equivalent of topping the box office for traditional theatrical release – the film Hocus Pocus 2sequel to the classic Hocus Pocuscontinues to set new streaming records.
According to Deadline reports:
“Hocus Pocus 2 set a record for streaming minutes per movie in Nielsen’s weekly rankings, attracting more than 2.7 billion minutes of viewing from September 26 to October 2. Disney’s sequel opened on September 30, meaning only its opening weekend was counted in the total.”
- Charm held the previous record, debuting with 2.2 billion minutes.
“Nielsen weekly rankings measure only streaming through a TV screen (meaning mobile viewing is not counted) for titles on Disney+, Hulu, Apple TV+, Prime Video, HBO Max, and Netflix, with numbers reported after almost a month of delay.
It would not seem crazy to us that with these good audience numbers, Disney launches a new installment. They would like to?
Hocus Pocus 2 brings with it the grand return of sisters Winifred, Sarah, and Mary Sanderson, played by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker y Kathy Najimyrespectively.
The film entitled in our market Abracadabra 2is directed by Anne Fletcher (The Proposal) from the script of Jen D’Angelo (Workaholics). Adam Shankman he is an executive producer with Ralph Winter, and Kirschner. Lynn Harris produces it.
Hocus Pocus 2 sets its plot almost three decades after the events of the original filmleading the Sanderson sisters to be awakened in current times.
