NEON revealed the official trailer for his new horror project, Hokumfrom the screenwriter and director Damian McCarthy (Caveat, Oddity). And from what we see in the preview… we are not prepared.

McCarthy's new film delves deep into folk horror, with a story that follows novelist Ohm Bauman (played by Adam Scott of Severance), who retreats to a remote inn to scatter his parents' ashes, where he is consumed by stories of a witch who haunts the bridal suite. Disturbing visions and a shocking disappearance force him to confront the darkest corners of his past.

The cast also includes Peter Coonan (Bad Sisters), David Wilmot (Hamnet), Austin Amelio (When No One See Us), Will O’Connell (Game of Thrones), y Florence Ordesh (Foundation).

The study will take Hokum to the 2026 SXSW Festival, where it will celebrate its world premiere later this week.

NEON is the studio behind proposals in the horror genre such as Longlegs, Immaculate, Cuckoo, The Monkey, Together, Shelby Oaks.

The film is produced by Roy Lee y Steven Schneiderproducers of Weapons, The Ring, la franquicia ITy Paranormal Activity.

Hokum premieres in theaters May 1, 2026.
