Ingredients
2 cups of wheat flour
1 teaspoon of salt
1/2 cup warm water
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
Directions
- In a large bowl, mix the wheat flour and salt.
- Add the vegetable oil to the flour mixture and stir well.
- Gradually add the warm water to the mixture, stirring continuously, until a cohesive dough begins to form.
- Transfer the dough to a clean, floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, or until the dough is soft and elastic.
- Divide the dough into small balls of the desired size for the pastries.
- Using a rolling pin, roll out each ball into a thin layer, about 2-3mm thick.
- Place the filling of your choice on one side of the rolled out dough.
- Fold the other half of the dough over the filling, forming a half moon shape.
- Press the edges with a fork to seal.
- Repeat the process until all the dough and filling have been used.
- Fry the pastries in hot oil until they are golden and crispy.
- Drain on paper towel and serve hot.
