Ingredients
1 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of water
2 cups of powdered milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence (optional)
Directions
- In a pan, place the sugar and water.Â
Place over medium heat and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. - Continue cooking the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it starts to boil.Â
Once it boils, reduce the heat to low and cook for another 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture begins to thicken and takes on a golden color.Â
Make sure not to let the mixture burn. - Remove the pan from the heat and let the sugar syrup cool slightly.
- In a bowl, add the powdered milk and vanilla essence (if using).
- Pour the hot sugar syrup over the powdered milk.Â
Mix well until you obtain a homogeneous dough.Â
You can use a wooden spoon or a spatula to do this. - Let homemade condensed milk cool completely before using or storing it.Â
You can store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
