The filmmaker Boots Rileyreturns this year with his second feature film and his first film project since the release of the acclaimed Sorry to Bother You (2018), partnering with NEON for chaotic and anti-capitalist adventure, I Love Boosters.

The official trailer of I Love Boosterspresents the theft and resale of designer clothes as a kind of community service, while also revealing an all-star cast led by the feisty Keke Palmer (One of Them Days), Naomi Ackie (Blink Twice, Mickey 17) y Taylour Paige (IT: Welcome to Derry), who play A trio of amateur thieves seeking revenge on an elite fashion empire.

The rest of the cast includes Poppy Liu (Hacks, His & Hers), Eiza González (3 Body Problem, I Care a Lot), LaKeith Stanfield (Roofman, Die My Love), Will Poulter (The Bear, Warfare), Don Cheadle (saga Oceans), and the Oscar nominee, Demi Moore (The Substance), playing a tyrannical late-capitalist fashionista.

  • This is a new collaboration between Stanfield and Riley, after the actor starred in Sorry to Bother You.

Following in the wake of his first film, with fantastic overtones, Riley's latest work takes place in an exaggerated and unbalanced version of the Bay Area.

The plot centers on Corvette (Palmer) and his criminal gang, who justify their theft as a way to redistribute wealth when Moore's character steals one of the Corvette designs.

The trailer highlights Riley's trademark mix of absurdism and political agitation aesthetics, but is supported by a group of performers who not only seem completely in tune with the film, but also determined to hit the nail on the head.

Take a look at the end of the note.

Riley's commitment to ambitious and complex ideas remains the main attraction, continuing a creative streak that has positioned him as one of the few contemporary filmmakers who navigate with ease at the intersection of genre spectacle and explicitly political American cinema.

Producers are Riley, Jon Read, Aaron Ryder, Andrew Swett, and Allison Rose Carter, with executive producers including Palmer, Megan Ellison, Michael Jackman, Ken Kao, Elizabeth Niles, Josh Rosenbaum, and Emily Thomas, among others.

Annapurna Pictures (company that produced Sorry to Bother You) and NEON, produce the film, in association with Ryder Picture Company, Savage Rose Films and Waypoint Entertainment. NEON distributes throughout the national territory.

The feature film celebrated its world premiere at the SXSW 2026 Festival this March. NEON premieres it in US theaters on May 22.
