A month after its theatrical release, Paramount Pictures officially started the pre-sale of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One in the U.S.
To celebrate the occasion, the studio released a behind-the-scenes look featurette in which writer-director Christopher McQuarrieand the protagonist and producer Tom Cruise They explain how the recording process was in the streets of Rome.
Cruise He comments that it all boils down to one thing:
“How do we engage the audience? I just want to give them that emotion.”
McQuarrie adds:
“The best part is Tom and Hayley Atwell. They are handcuffed to each other.”
Wade Eastwoodsecond unit director and stunt coordinator, adds to the conversation about the sequence in Rome:
“Tom has to drive with one hand in handcuffs. Really. Without cheats.”
“The key is not to crash,” says Cruise.
Atwell ends by saying:
“Tom driving and drifting one handed through the streets of Rome, that was a day I’ll never forget.”

McQuarrie has directed other installments of the franchise such as Ghost Protocol (2015) y Fallout (2018). The latter became the highest grossing of all, collecting $791.1 million globally.
