This Instant Pot Mac and Cheese is ultra-creamy, kid-approved, and practically foolproof. No draining, no baking, and no extra dishes—just cheesy perfection with minimal effort and maximum flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb elbow macaroni

  • 4 cups water

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 1 cup milk (whole milk preferred)

  • 1½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • Optional: paprika or mustard powder for extra flavor

Directions

  • Add macaroni, water, salt, and butter to the Instant Pot. Stir gently.
  • Seal the lid and set to Pressure Cook (High) for 4 minutes.
  • Quick-release the pressure carefully and open the lid.
  • Stir the pasta—most of the liquid should be absorbed.
  • Add milk, cheddar, mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic powder, and pepper.
  • Stir until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is creamy.
  • Adjust seasoning if needed and serve immediately.
