In a few days, the English-language remake of the Danish horror hit will be released in theaters Speak No Eviltitled in our country Don't talk to strangersby the screenwriter and director James Watkins (Eden Lake, The Woman in Black), and the companies Blumhouse y Universal Pictures.

For his starring role as Paddy in this remake of the 2022 Danish horror hit, James McAvoy (Split, It: Chapter Two) needed to capture toxic and masculine energy, which is why he was inspired by One of the most toxic social media personalities in the world today: Andrew Tate.

In an interview with Empire Magazine, McAvoy explained:

What I thought I could exploit in the character was that he thinks he's a bit like Andrew Tate from the western country.”

“He says, ‘I’m going to teach you what it’s like to be a man again. ’ But there’s a sort of polite face that’s not exactly Andrew Tate, there’s just enough of a sheen of, ‘I’m not one of those guys. ’ [Paddy] He’s challenging you, ‘Do you have a big enough member to have a drink with me?’ or, ‘I’m sorry, this is too much for you because you’re not real enough.’”

McAvoy is joined in the main cast Aisling Franciosi (The Nightingale, The Fall), Mackenzie Davis (Station Eleven, Blade Runner 2049), Scoot McNairy (Argo, Narcos: Mexico), Alix West Lefler (My Life with the Walter Boys, Riverdale)y And Hough (Hollyoaks).

The original 2022 film, which we remember for its big premiere at Sundance in 2022, centers on two families, one Danish and one Dutch, who during a vacation in Tuscany, meet and become fast friends. Months later, the free-spirited Dutch family extends an invitation to the conservative Danish family for a holiday weekend getaway at their rural home. Things gradually spiral out of control, as the joy of reunion is replaced by misunderstandings.
