Lady Gaga to release 'Harlequin', a companion album to 'Joker: Folie à Deux'

At the beginning of September, Gaga announced that the first single from her seventh studio album dubbed “LG7” would be released in October, and now, after several days of posting cryptic messages on her social networks, the artist revealed that will also release another album, ‘Harlequin’announced as a “companion album” to the film Joker: Madness for Two.

Harlequin It is released on Friday, September 27, 2024, and will include 13 songs.

It is important to note that one of the cryptic messages alludes to the fact that the nickname of this album is “6.5”, which possibly means that Gaga does not consider “Harlequin” a full studio album, unlike her seventh studio album, which as we mentioned, will be released in October.

The tracklist apparently confirms that most of the songs included would be new versions of classic songs, such as the one we heard in one of the most recent trailers for the sequel, “That's Life,” which was originally performed by Frank Sinatra. Apparently, three of them would be original songs. We'll find out in two days.

At the end of this note we share with you the two images that Gaga used to accompany the announcement. The first one is the cover of the complementary album, and the second one is the tracklist, creatively placed on a liter of milk carton.

The sequel features the return of Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck/Joker, and the debut of Gaga as Harley Quinn, who in this Joker-verse of Todd Phillipsto his incarnation of the popular character is known as Lee.

Joker 2 It will have musical elements and is set in Arkham Asylumwhich is where the first film ends after Arthur Fleck (Phoenix) was sent there. The acclaimed JOKER (2019) by Phillips, follows Arthur Fleck and his journey to become the clown of crime, serving as the origin story of the iconic villain, developing its plot in Gotham City in the 80s.

Phillips returns as co-writer and director. He co-wrote the script with Scott Silverhis coguionist in Joker (2019).

Warner Bros. releases Joker: Madness for Two in theaters on October 4, 2024. In Mexico it hits theaters on Wednesday, October 2.
