
James Gunn shared the First official glance to the DCU series, Lanternswith HBO house based on the comic of Green Lanternstarring Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler as John Stewart and Hal Jordan, respectively.
It is precisely two to whom we see in the image revealed by Gunn in social networks. In the publication with the image, Gunn announced that the production has already started and celebrated the series calling him “something really special.”
The series of Chris Mundy (Ozark), Damon Lindelof (Watchmen) y Tom King, consists of 8 episodes. The plot follows the new recruit John Stewart (Pierre) and Lantern's legend, Jordan (Chandler), two intergalactic police dragged to a dark mystery based on the earth while investigating a murder in the heart of the United States.
HBO produces in association with Warner Bros. Television and DC Studios.
Mundy is the Showrunner, Lindelof and King are coguionistas and executive producers, and James Hawes the director of the first two episodes and executive producer.
Character John Stewart debuted in Green flashlight Vol 2 #87, and was created by Dennis O'Neil and Neal Adams, as an idea of the latter for green lantern substitute. The original design was based on the iconic actor Sidney Paitier. It was the first black DC superhero. Hal Jordan for his part, is a former test pilot and experienced green flashlight.
Other cast members include Ulrich Thomsen Like the sinister villain, Poorna jagannathan like zoe, Kelly Macdonald as Sheriff Kerry, and Garry Dillahunt as the modern cowboy William Macon.
This is Pierre's most recent incursion into the superhero genre, because from 2018 to 2019 he was part of the series Krypton Syfy. Its most prominent roles include the series The Underground Railroad of prime video, Genius: MLK/X of Hulu, and the thriller Rebel Ridge by Jeremy Saulnier, and lending his voice in Mufasathe animated prequel to The Lion King. Soon we will see it in the third season of The Morning Show of Apple TV+.
The series is rolling in Los Angeles. Its premiere for 2026 is expected in HBO and Max.
