Apple TV+ marketing campaign continues Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, a MonsterVerse spinoff series featuring the return of Godzilla.
Ahead of the launch of the fifth episode “The Way Out” which will be available this Friday, December 8 on the platform, the streamer presented a new official trailer that offers a brutal look at what is to come, in addition to making a precise recapitulation of what has happened so far.
New episodes premiere on Fridays. The first season consists of 10 episodes in total. You can find the preview at the end of this note.
This is the description of episode 5:
“Cate's painful memories of G-Day return as she walks through the ruins of San Francisco with Kentaro and May.”
The series is set within the MonsterVerse timeline.the monster cinematic universe from Warner Bros. and Legendary, which has proven to be a commercial success for the companies, and which is made up of the films Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island (2017), Godzilla: The King of the Monsters (2019), Godzilla vs Kong (2020). In April 2024 it will be released in theaters Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire.
Legacy Of Monsters revolves primarily around Monarch, the shady organization linked to all Titan activity on Earth. The project features considerable kaiju action, which tells us that it will work as a great large-scale accompaniment to the aforementioned film projects.
The cast is headed by Kurt Russell (Fast & Furious 9, The Thing) and his son Wyatt Russell (Overlord, Under the Banner of Heaven) playing the same character, army officer Lee Shaw, in different time periods. They accompany them Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watanabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippetty Elisa Lasowski.
Chris Black is the creator of Monarch: Legacy of Monsterswho also developed it together with Matt Fraction. The first two episodes were directed by Matt Shakman (WandaVision), while the third and most recent was directed Julian Holmes (The Boys, Daredevil, Carnival Row). The series consists of 10 episodes in totalwhich are released weekly on the streamer on Fridays.
SYNOPSIS:
“Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that devastated San Francisco, and the shocking revelation that the monsters are real, Monarch: Legacy Of Monsters tracks two brothers who follow in their father's footsteps to discover their family's connection to the secret organization known as Monarch.
“The clues lead them into the world of monsters and eventually down the rabbit hole to army officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell), which takes place in the 1950s and half a century later, where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows.
“The dramatic saga, spanning three generations, reveals buried secrets and the ways in which epic, momentous events can impact our lives.”
