Ingredients
2 cups of wheat flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup lemon juice (about 3 lemons)
Zest of 2 lemons
1/2 cup of milk
1/2 cup melted butter
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Unite a form of cake with butter and wheat flour. - In a large bowl, sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Mix well and book. - In another bowl, beat the sugar and eggs until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Add the lemon juice, lemon zest, milk and melted butter to the egg-sugar mixture.
Mix well. - Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the liquid mixture, stirring gently until all ingredients are incorporated.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and level the surface with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes in the pan.
Then unmold and cool completely on a wire rack. - Optionally, you can prepare a lemon icing for the cake.
Just mix fresh lemon juice with icing sugar until you get a frosting consistency.
Pour over cooled cake and garnish with lemon zest.
