Nice Monroe landed his next film project. THR announces that the actress has signed on for the leading role in the remake of The Hand That Rocks the Cradlebetter known in our market as The hand that rocks the cradle which prepares 20th Century Studios.

The feature film will be directed by the Mexican filmmaker Michelle Garza Cerverawho co-wrote and directed the acclaimed horror film Hueser (2022) nominated for 17 Ariel Awards, and Barbarian Mexico II (2017). The script was written by Micah Bloomberg (Homecoming, Sanctuary).

The remake adapts the 1992 psychological thriller originally distributed by Buena Vista Pictures and directed by Curtis Hanson. Rebecca De Mornay played a twisted widow who, distraught at having lost her own baby, insinuates herself into a family as their nanny, with the ultimate goal of keeping the children and husband. Annabella Sciorra played the mother, and Matt McCoy played the father.

Monroe will play the nanny.

The feature film will be produced by Ted Field of Radar Pictures, and Michael Schaefer and Mike Larocca of Department M.
