“Someone of trust is difficult to find.”
With that line that more than a slogan seems a warning, Hulu y Disney Plus reveal The official trailer of the remake of the psychological thriller 1992, The Hand That Rocks the Cradlebetter known in this region as THE HAND MEED THE CRAF.
The 20th Century Studios project is starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead (10 Cloverfield Lane, Final Destination 3) as Caitlin Morales, and Maika Monroe (Longlegs, It Follows) as the Nanny Polly Murphy.
Caitlin is a mother of the high -level suburbs who, along with her husband, hires the services of a new nanny, the seemingly sweet Polly, to take care of the couple's baby. But Polly's real motifs have very little to sing cradle songs.
“How well you really know her?” Polly is not the person who claims to be.
The new version is directed by the Mexican filmmaker Michelle Garza Cervera (BUEERA, MEXICO Bárbaro II), with script written by Micah Bloomberg (Homecoming, Sanctuary).
Raúl Castillo (Smile 2, Class of ’09), Martin Starr (Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities), Mileiah vega (American Horror Stories) y Shannon Cochran (Ballard), complete the main cast.
Official synopsis:
“A wealthy mother hires Polly Murphy as a babysitter, but soon discovers that this woman is not the one to be.”
The original film follows Rebecca de Mainay playing “a twisted widow who, anguished for losing her own baby, is introduced into a family like a nanny, with the ultimate goal of staying with the children and the husband.” Annabella Sciorra played the mother.
Director Garza Cervera explained that Although it is a remake of the 1992 film, this is not a “coal copy”and promises many “shocking moments.” Also, one of the first changes is the atmosphere. The plot is Seattle transfer to Los Angeles. Garza Cervera also says that characters have different and more complex background stories.
And if you are a fan of the original 1992, some were included easter eggsto which you have to be attentive.
The feature film is produced by Ted Field from Radar Pictures, and Michael Schaefer and Mike Larocca de Department M, with Michael Napoliello, Maria Frisk, and Seth William Meier as executive producers.
THE HAND MEED THE CRAF with It premieres in Hulu on October 22, 2025 in the United States, and the November 19 in Latin America through Disney Plus.
