Me Minor «Pure literature» – the (music) year is slowly coming to an end, but in Japan the clocks are a little different, new things are released 365 days a year, so I can hardly keep up with reviewing the new releases.
Before it ends, I definitely want to introduce you to the new single from the duo Me Minor – this young band has existed since 2024 and is one of the countless smaller indie acts in Japan that regularly release great music. Your new song combines typical Japanese chords with a catchy melody and might even make it into my year-end billing.
Sharp Pins «Popafangout» – I don't know anything else about this artist from Chicago, a chance discovery on YouTube, but which I find charmingly retro (very reminiscent of Guided by Voices). The song comes from the album “Balloon Balloon Balloon”.
