
The acclaimed Emmy winning anthology series, The White Lotus of Mike Whiteit is broadcasting its third season In HBO and Max.
Each season, the anthology and social satire series follows a new generation of guests in a White Lotus resort and the employees of the tourist center, while a murder is triggered. The first season was set in Hawaii, the second in Sicily, and the third moves us to the Southeast Asia.
The plot set in Thailand focuses on a multigenerational group that includes a patriarch and his family, an actress and her two best friends on a girl trip, a young woman and her oldest boyfriend always eagerly moody with her own and secret reasons to be in Thailand, among others.
Con two remaining episodes to conclude the seasontheories of who or who could be responsible for the shooting of the first scene of this season have emerged. The opening sequence showed a Zion flash-forward (Nicholas Duvernay) hidden in the Koi pond of the resort while shooting and the monkeys run wildly before finding a body floating in the water.
One of the possibilities, according to online fans theories, would be precisely these creatures seen or heard often in the resort.
And that theory has gained popularity. But…
The cast of the cast, Michelle Monaghan (Bad Monkey, MaXXXine) assures the audience that The killer of season 3 is human.
On his recent visit at Jimmy Kimmel Live, Monaghan denied the fans theory that went viral in recent weeks on who is responsible for the shooting:
“They know! I have to deny a theory. Boys, the monkeys did not do it! People have gone crazy thinking that.”
Monaghan plays Jaclyn Lemon in the HBO series, an important actress who is visiting the Thai resort next to her two best friends, in a subtram full of tensions, envy and jealousy.
When Kimmel, who says a big fan of the series, asked if his character would end up losing his head on his girl trip, the joke actress replied:
“Well, I don't know. They will have to do. Maybe I get a little crazy. Maybe.”
The third season has the return of Natasha Rothwell as Belinda Lindsey, a role she played in the first season for which she was nominated for Emmy. We met Belinda as the manager of the resort spa in Hawaii, where she formed a friendship with the guest Tanya Mcquoid (Jennifer Coolidge), who in turn promised to make an important investment so that Belinda could open her own spa center. The first season focused on money and the second on sex. White has said that the third season is a “Satirical and fun vision of death and religion and oriental spirituality. It seems that it could be a rich tapestry to make another round in White Lotus”.
The series is created, written and directed by White, and produced executively by White, David Bernad, and Mark Kamine.
The new episodes are released on Sundays at Max at 8 pm (CDMX), and in HBO at 11 pm.
