La Major League Baseball (MLB) has signed numerous agreements con television and streaming giants to broadcast select games over the next three seasonsMLB reported.
We start by telling you the arrival of the MLB to Netflix.
From 2026Netflix, the streaming service with the most subscribers in the world, will broadcast live around the world special baseball events, which represents a significant expansion of the streamer in this sport. Sports in general is an area that the platform has tried to penetrate in recent years, to position itself as the favorite destination for fans of different disciplines.
The agreement between the MLB and Netflix is from 2026 to 2028.
THE MLB EVENTS THAT WILL BE TRANSMITTED ON NETFLIX
The following events will have exclusive transmission in streaming:
- The League's Opening Night: match that takes place the night before the full opening day.
- The Home Run Derby– The sport's most-watched skills competition held before the MLB All-Star Game.
- The Field of Dreams match: Each year, Netflix will air an additional special event, starting with this one.
As part of the agreement, Netflix will also broadcast all 47 matches of the World Baseball Classic in Japan.

Los Minnesota Twins will face the Philadelphia Phillies.
Meanwhile, the Home Run Derby will be held at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on Monday, July 13, 2026.
The Derby debuted in 1985, as part of the MLB All-Star Game celebration. Over these 40 years, it has featured memorable performances by baseball's greatest hitters, including three-time champion Ken Griffey Jr. and current stars such as 2025 National League home run leader Kyle Schwarber, Giancarlo Stanton, Judge, two-time champion Pete Alonso, Juan Soto, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and defending champion Cal Raleigh.
MLB EXTENDS ITS AGREEMENT WITH ESPN, IN ADDITION TO RETURNING TO NBC
In addition to the agreement signed with Netflix, the MLB signed a new three-year broadcast rights agreement with ESPN and NBCUniversalextending its long partnership with ESPN for 39 consecutive seasonsand mark the return of regular MLB games to NBC for the first time in 25 years.
Starting with the 2026 season, The new agreement will give ESPN the rights to MLB.TVits on-demand service that allows viewers to watch teams outside their home region, MLB said Wednesday.
No details were provided on the planned subscription fees for MLB.TV or the value of the three deals.
On the other hand, NBCUniversalowned by Comcast, will take over Sunday night gamesthus recovering regular programming of matches on its network for the first time in the aforementioned twenty-five years.
- MLB WILL CONTINUE IN LATIN AMERICA ON ESPN:
For all those in doubt, we confirm that a complete package of MLB games will continue to be offered by ESPN in the following regions: Latin America (including the Caribbean), Australia/New Zealand, Africa, Netherlands and China. The package includes daily games of regular season, Sunday Night Baseballhe All-Star Game y the entire postseasonincluding the World Series.
The agreements will allow the distribution of MLB coverage on various platforms.
Fox Sports will continue transmitting the World Series and other gameswhile Apple TV will issue the consecutive Friday Night Baseball games.
These deals came to fruition when ESPN reportedly decided to opt out of the final three years of its contract this year, which would have given it the rights to many of these MLB shows.
The contract would have cost ESPN more than $1.5 billion over the next three seasons. ESPN's decision not to sign the contract led to lengthy negotiations with the league and various platforms for broadcasting its games.
