More information emerges about the lawsuit that James Hunterthe actor who played an extra role in the slasher MaXXXinehas filed against Mia Gothdirector You Westand the study A24for assault on the set by Goth towards him, who, according to Hunter, kicked him in the head while a scene for the horror film was being filmed.
In his original complaint, Hunter claimed that he informed the film's second assistant director that Goth nearly stepped on him during a scene in which he had to lie on the floor as Goth ran past him. In the next take, Hunter alleges that Goth intentionally kicked him in the head, causing a concussion, and then “mocked him, and belittled him” when Hunter went to use the bathroom.
In an interview with Dread Central, Hunter provided more specific details about what happened with Goth. He alleges that Goth followed him to a porta-potty in a remote bathroom area and opened the door to the stall he was using. When he attempted to apologize for not closing the door, Hunter claimed that Goth responded:
“No one will believe you because you are nothing. Get the hell out of me, you big baby.”
Hunter says he wrote these words down immediately so he could remember them word for word.
Goth, West and A24 have denied Hunter's allegations in court documents. In a statement first provided to Dread Central, An A24 representative reiterated the studio's position that Hunter's claims are “simply not true.”
The statement continues: “As this is in active litigation, we cannot say more at this time, but we will continue to vigorously defend Mia and the entire film crew against these extremely baseless allegations.”
Hunter's lawsuit further alleges that he became so dizzy driving home from work that he had to stop his car twice, and that production subsequently informed him that they did not want him to return for the remaining two days of his shoot.
The lawsuit accuses Goth of assault and A24, Goth and West of wrongful termination.
