In addition to having revealed a new poster, Paramount Pictures released a couple of posters to continue the promotion of Sonic the Hedgehog 3which marks the cinematic debut of Shadow, one of Sonic's enemies, in many ways considered the anti-Sonic.

It was created by Dr. Gerald Robotnik, grandfather of Dr. Ivo Robotnik (Jim Carrey). He was genetically modified with alien DNA, a speedster with teleportation powers. Shadow debuted in Sonic Adventure 2 2001. For his film debut, his voice will be provided by Keanu Reeves.

This third installment of the franchise Sonic the Hedgehog of the director Jeff Fowler (director of all three films), will explore new areas of the video game universe created by SEGA.

SYNOPSIS:

“Sonic returns to the big screen this holiday season in his most exciting adventure yet. Sonic, Knuckles and Tails will reunite to face a powerful new adversary, Shadow, a mysterious villain with powers never seen before. With their abilities surpassed in every way, Team Sonic must seek an unlikely alliance in hopes of stopping Shadow and protecting the planet.”

The cast features the returns of Carrey, Ben Schwartz lending his voice to Sonic, James Marsden like Tom Wachowski, Colleen O’Shaughnessey lending his voice to Tails, and Idris Elba a Knuckles. Con Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally y Lee Majdoub, Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), Alyla Browne (Furious), James Cloud (Watchmen), Sofia Pernas (Jane the Virgin), Cristo Fernandez (Ted Lasso), y Jorma Taccone (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse) completing the cast. For the Spanish-speaking market in Latin America, Luisito Comunica returns lending his voice to Sonic.

Sonic the Hedgehog It has been a great commercial success for Paramount. The combined global box office of the first two films totals $870.8 million. It is not surprising then for a third film, and even a spinoff series focused on Knuckles which was already released by the streamer Paramount+.

Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher, Toru Nakahara, and Hitoshi Okuno produce el largometraje.

Paramount Pictures releases Sonic 3 in theaters on December 20, 2024 in the US, and on December 25 in Mexico and the rest of Latin America.
