The story of Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy comes closer to Netflix.
Dolly Alderton (Everything I Know About Love) is writing the scripts to adapt the novel Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen in television series format. Casting will be the next step (via Deadline).
It is important to clarify that this is a project in development that has not received the official green light from the streamer to become a series. Lookout Point (Gentleman Jack) is the production company.
If given the green light, it would become the first adaptation of Austen's literary material on Netflix since the feature film Persuasion (2022), starring Dakota Johnson.
