SYNOPSIS:
“Follows the beginning of the American West, the violent collisions of cults, religion, and men and women fighting for control of the new world.”
A following description says:
“This is America… 1857. Up is down, pain is everywhere, innocence and tranquility are losing the battle to hate and fear. Peace is the shrinking minority and very few possess grace; Even fewer know compassion. There is no safe haven in these brutal lands and only one goal matters: survival.”
The limited series is described as a fictional dramatization and analysis of the violent collision between culture, religion and community, in which men and women fight and die to preserve or claim the lands that make up the brutal American frontier. Among those men and women are several native tribes that have long occupied those lands: the Shoshone, the Paiute and the Ute.
American Primeval is directed by Peter Berg (Painkiller, Deepwater Horizon, Lone Survivor, The Kingdom), con Mark L. Smith (The Revenant) as creator and screenwriter. Both are executive producers alongside Eric Newman (Narcos) and Alex Gayner. Smith and Newman are the showrunners.
Los 6 episodes from the miniseries premiere on January 9, 2025 on Netflix.
