The action franchise John Wickof Lionsgatecontinues to prepare the audience for the premiere of the spinoff Ballerina of the director Len Wiseman (Underworldreboot Total Recall).
The latest in the marketing campaign is a new look at the protagonist Ana de Armas during what appears to be a confrontation with a police officer.

In the action thriller, de Armas plays Rooney, a Ruska Roma dancer who seeks revenge against a group of hitmen who murdered her family. The plot is set between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum y John Wick: Chapter 4focusing on the assassin who only made a brief appearance in Chapter 3 and was originally performed by Unity Phelan.
The cast has the returns of Keanu Reeves in what has been described as a “substantial role, not a cameo,” Ian McShane as Winston, the manager of the Continental Hotel, Anjelica Huston as The Director, in charge of the Ruska Roma crime organization that trains dancers in the same facility where Wick trained as an assassin, and Lance Reddick like Charon, the concierge of the Continental Hotel in one of his last performances. The actor died in March 2023 due to ischemic heart disease.
Gabriel Byrne (The Usual Suspects, Hereditary), Catalina Sandino Moreno (Mary full of grace, Silent Night) y Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead) are the new additions to the franchise.
Wiseman directs the script written by Shay Hatten (John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Army of the Dead).
SYNOPSIS:
“Ballerina involves a young woman (de Armas) with murderous skills who uses those skills to get revenge when her family is murdered by hitmen.”
Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee and Chad Stahelski produce the spinoff. Reeves executive produces alongside Kaley Smalley of Wiseman's Sketch Films. Lionsgate's James Myers is overseeing for the studio.
Chapter 4 Released in theaters in March 2023, it is the highest-grossing film of the entire franchise, with more than $440 million at the global box office. The four films have a global box office of more than $1 billion.
In addition to the spinoff, the cinematic universe expanded to the small screen with the prequel series The Continentalavailable on Prime Video in Mexico and the rest of Latin America from September 2023.
