The Oscar winner, Alfonso Cuaronhas the premiere of the Apple original series on the horizon, Disclaimera psychological thriller that adapts the bestseller of the same name by Renee Knight.
The limited series, which consists of seven episodes, is entirely adapted and directed by Cuarón. He also serves as executive producer.
Cate Blanchett y Kevin Kline are the co-stars. She plays Catherine Ravenscroft, an acclaimed journalist whose reputation is damaged after receiving a novel from an unknown author that exposes her darkest secrets.
Cuarón, a renowned filmmaker who has made major projects such as Roma, Gravity, Children of Men, Y tu mamá también, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkabanamong others, explained having encountered some difficulties when approaching the story of Disclaimer.
This is what he explained to Empire Magazine:
“I didn't know how to put it together like a conventional film, because of the richness of the stories [de los personajes] and the detail that had to be conveyed with each of them.”
“I am very concerned about how narratives can be manipulated and how someone can manipulate their appearance through the narrative to [parecer] a good person. I think right now is a very good period. [preocupante] where that is happening more and more.”
And on Blanchett's work in the series:
“It's crazy [el nivel de compromiso que Cate Blanchett] took on this. I would get text messages every weekend and in the evenings after work with specific feedback on each part of the script and specific dialogues that we should study to make it all more meaningful.”

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:
“Acclaimed journalist Catherine Ravenscroft (Blanchett) built her reputation by revealing the misdeeds and transgressions of others. When she receives a novel from an unknown author, she is horrified to realise that she is now the main character in a story that exposes his darkest secrets. As Catherine races to uncover the writer’s true identity, she is forced to confront her past before it destroys both her own life and her relationships with her husband Robert (Sacha Baron Cohen) and son Nicholas (Kodi Smit-McPhee).”
Blanchett and Kline are joined in the cast by Sacha Baron Cohen (Borat, The Trial of the Chicago 7), Kodi Smit-McPhee (Let Me In, Elvis), Lesley Manville (Back to Black, The Crown), Louis Partridge (Enola Holmes), Leila George (Animal Kingdom), Hoyeon (Squid Game) e Indira Varma (Obi-Wan Kenobi, Game of Thrones) as the narrator.

Apple TV+ premieres the series on October 11 with its first two episodes. Subsequent new episodes will be released weekly on Fridays.
