The marketing campaign that 20th Century Studios has designed to Alien: Romulusthe new installment of the saga Aliendirected and co-written by Fede Alvarez (Don’t Breathe, Evil Dead), continues ahead by sharing two new image glimpses.
The first of them shared by Total Film It is focused on the protagonist Cailee Spaeny (Priscilla, The Craft: Legacy, Mare of Easttown, Devs), playing Rain Carradine, in part of a sequence in which he appears to be preparing to face danger. The second image shared by Fandango shows Spaeny with two of her castmates.
In addition to Spaeny, the cast is led by Isabela Merced (Instant Family, Dora and the Lost City of Gold), Archie Renaux (Upgraded, The Other Zoey), David Johnson (Industry), Spike Fearn (After sun), y Aileen Wu.

An important fact about this new film is that unlike the other films that focused on adults in corporate, military and scientific roles, this ninth installment of the franchise will focus on a group of young people.
The project is described as “an original independent feature film.” The plot is located between the timeline of Alien (1979) by Ridley Scott, and the sequel Aliens (1986) by James Cameron.

Álvarez co-wrote the script with his frequent collaborator Rodo Sayagues (remake Evil Dead, Don’t Breathe, Don’t Breathe 2remake Texas Chainsaw Massacre), and produced the feature film in the company of Ridley Scottdirector of the original classic and the prequels Prometheus y Alien: Covenant.
The original classic Alien by Ridley Scott from 1979, ended with a shot in which the protagonist, Sigourney Weaver, expelled a Xenomorph from her escape capsule, before falling into cryogenic sleep that would take her back to human civilization. The sequel, Aliens by Cameron, released in 1986, picked up the plot years later, while Ripley accompanied a military mission investigating a possible Xenomorph attack on a remote space colony.
Alien: Romulus will be released in theaters on August 16, 2024 via 20th Century Studios. It will be the first installment of the saga Alien to be distributed by Disney.
